Phillimore Gardens, Kensington
Comprehensive refurbishment and extension of a detached house with a new basement and swimming pool. Services are fully concealed, designed hand in hand with the interiors, lighting, AV and pool teams.

Wimbledon villa
15,000 sq ft villa in a conservation area. Ground source heat pumps heat the house, hot water and pool; cooling rejects heat to the borehole array, so almost no external plant.

Victoria Road, Kensington
New basement and pool to a Victorian terrace. Strict planning noise limits led to internally mounted condensers serving full comfort cooling.

Upper Belgrave Street, Belgravia
An 8,600 sq ft listed house. Underfloor heating and cooling throughout, achieved while retaining the listed fabric.

Surrey manor house
35,000 sq ft on a 60-acre estate. A cascade of ground source heat pumps provides heating and cooling, with heat recovered from the house to warm the pools.

Chester Square, Belgravia
Grade II listed house. VRV comfort cooling concealed in a lowered, silenced vault, with all electrical, lighting, boosted water, heating and plumbing services.

From first survey to final witnessing.
Full MEP design across mechanical, electrical, public health, lifts and IT, coordinated with the architect, interior designer and specialist lighting, AV and pool consultants.
Alongside private homes, we also take on family offices and high-end office fit-outs, with the same discreet, quality-first approach.
Pre-acquisition surveys
M&E surveys before purchase, condition reports and desktop feasibility studies, so buyers know what the services will need.
Concept and Stage 2 reports
Servicing strategy, plant space and riser routes agreed early with the design team.
Detailed design and tender
Full RIBA Stage 4 drawings, schedules and specifications, or performance packages for design and build.
Planning support
TM59 overheating assessments and cooling hierarchy statements for comfort cooling applications.
Utilities and power
Electrical load assessments and supply applications, gas and water connections.
Construction stage
Technical review, input to cost consultants, witnessing of testing and commissioning, and snagging.

I founded RS MEP Design in 2016, after more than a decade in building services consultancy on large commercial schemes and on Grade I and II listed buildings within the Grosvenor, Portman, Cadogan and Bedford Estates. Today the practice focuses on prime and super-prime homes, from London townhouses and apartments to country estates, and I stay directly involved in every project.
